© Ars Essentia – Festival de Beaune

2nd edition – 20-25 July 2026

Do you love singing and want to discover or learn more about the Baroque repertoire?

In dialogue with the Festival programme, this week-long course offers the chance to deepen your experience of choral singing from a ‘historically informed’ perspective and to experience the Beaune Festival in a new light.

Under the guidance of Lucile de Trémiolles, a sought-after choir director and teacher, and Valentin Rouget, participants will explore the 17th-century Venetian repertoire (Monteverdi, Willaert, Gabrieli, Lotti, etc.). A final concert will showcase their work, and they will also be invited to join in the first and last choruses of Monteverdi’s Vespers of the Virgin, performed on 24 July.

This course is open to any musician with solid experience in choral singing, or with advanced musical training in another field who wishes to learn choral singing. Participants are required to work on the scores in advance using the voice-by-voice audio files, which will be sent to them by 15 June at the latest.

From Monday 20 to Saturday 25 July, at the Beaune Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Prices:
Individual participation: €380
Couples’ rate: €330 per participant
Under 35s: €260

Registrations are accepted only via the form available at the top left of this page. To ensure an equitable distribution of parts, a selection process may, if necessary, be carried out for the most popular choir sections.
