Messiah

Liberati

A different kind of Messiah

At its premiere in 1742, Messiah represented something new: an oratorio without drama, a profession of inner faith rather than exuberant pomp. It is in the same spirit that Liberati presents this Messiah in Beaune, after Switzerland and the Haendel Festival in Halle. Without a conductor, and supported on the grand-orgue by Benjamin Alard, the fifty musicians of this new ensemble rely solely on their confidence and their shared breath. A unique experience that renews our understanding of Haendel’s masterpiece, which has not been performed in Beaune since 2013.
