A woman’s life in the Middle Ages
Beaune is returning to the music of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, which left such an indelible mark on the history of Burgundy. In front of the magnificent cycle of 15th-century tapestries depicting the Life of the Virgin, a masterpiece of Burgundian art, the young singers of the ensemble Contre le Temps show how medieval composers weave fervent yet sensual music around the figure of the Virgin Mary.
